Like in the early days in the wild West, cowboys would make their opponent dance with a shower of bullets. Kids With Guns aren’t lethal, but will put you in the line of fire. This electropop-duo from Utrecht, The Netherlands, fires a cocktail of raw electro, big beats and catchy vocals on to the dancefloor. Rik Voorberg and Niek Eilander met in high school through a mutual interest in indie-music. No wonder they travelled to Amsterdam to see Radiohead, just to find out, standing in front of the venue, that the gig had been cancelled. That very day it was decided to join forces and start making music together.

Years pass, in which they both spend time writing teenage-angst ridden anthems, drop out of university and work long hours in grocery stores. In 2011, they meet up again in Utrecht and decide to share an apartment. Even before the place was furnished, they already had built a small studio and started collaborating with a producer. Their ambition has no borders: this summer they are being flown to Athens for a smashing gig.

Sur Nilsson is een nieuwe Utrechtse strijder aan het front der indierockers. Gewapend met cleane gitaren, breekbare vocalen en stevig stampwerk is deze band een bijzondere verschijning op het muzikale slagveld. Confronterende onderwerpen op geruststellende melodieën; Sur Nilsson is een eigenzinnig fenomeen.

De band rondom singer-songwriter Neil Grootjans is een gezelschap dat de tijdens een roa…dtrip ontstane nummers naar een nieuw plan tilt. Drie maanden na de eerste oefensessie is de EP met behulp van Martijn Groeneveld een feit en in oktober wordt het nummer ‘Lights’ bestempeld als ‘Hollandse Nieuwe’ op de 3voor12 luisterpaal. Inmiddels heeft de band een intense en verfrissende live-set gereed die als een warme deken over de zalen en huiskamers des lands dient te worden uitgerold.
